American actress Elizabeth Greer “Beanie” Feldstein was born on June 29, 1993. Her breakthrough roles were in the comedies Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), Lady Bird (2017), and Booksmart (2019), the latter of which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. Early Life

Feldstein was born in Los Angeles, the only child of Guns N’ Roses tour accountant Richard Feldstein and Sharon Lyn (née Chalkin), a costume designer and fashion stylist. Feldstein is a Jew. She is the youngest of three children; her older brother, actor Jonah Hill; and her oldest brother, Jordan Feldstein, manager of Maroon 5, passed away unexpectedly at age 40 due to a blood clot (1977-2017).

When she was a baby, her nanny gave her the nickname “Beanie,” and her brothers followed suit. She went to Stagedoor Manor, a theatre camp in New York, as well as the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. Feldstein has been best friends with Ben Platt, a Broadway and film actor, since high school. She earned a sociology degree from Wesleyan University in 2015.

Career

In the ABC comedy series My Wife and Kids in 2002, Feldstein made her acting debut. She portrayed Megan in the musical Madison High television pilot in 2012. In the third season of the Netflix comedy Orange Is the New Black in 2015, Feldstein made an appearance as a guest star. In the comedy Fan Girl that same year, she portrayed Anna.
