Julia and her sisters Lily and Jenny were reared in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, by their renowned actor father Loren Lester, who is best known for portraying Dick Grayson and Robin in the DC Comics movies, and their stage actress mother Kelly. Julia’s sisters are also performers.

While in elementary school, Julia had an interest in acting. Her father encouraged her to practise so that she would one day become well-known. When she was 11 years old, she had her debut as Young Cherie in the short film “The One Who Got Away.” After finishing elementary school, Julia enrolled in Calabasas High School, where she primarily concentrated on performing while simultaneously striving for academic success.
